HOW HORSES HELP ...
Horses are some of Nature’s most powerful teachers. Their natural reflective tendencies and high level of energetic awareness can help us sharpen our senses and develop our intuition.
When we quiet our minds enough to perceive the subtle ways the horses respond to our behaviors, we can then respond to them with equal sensitivity. In the horse world, this is referred to as Feel. We begin to understand why our energetic awareness is important and how we can use this knowledge to live better lives.

Reimagine Horsemanship Equine Wellness Center

Reimagine Horsemanship is a rehabilitation center for troubled horses. We use Relationship-Based Horsemanship to reset how horses feel about humans, and then re-educate them so they can stay safe and healthy in the human world. The fact of the matter is that in order to build HEALTHY, working relationships with horses, we need to communicate with them in a way that makes sense to them. And to be capable of doing that, we MUST practice mindfulness.

Mindful Horsemanship

Meditation is known to be a highly effective means of managing our physical, emotional, and mental health/wellness. Meditation is also notorious for being very difficult for most people to practice. The human mind tends to drift and our river of thought pulls our consciousness into its raging current. Mindfulness meditation is the practice of holding our awareness on a sensory stimulus rather than being lost in thought.
Horses give us a practical reason to remain mindful. They are large, sensitive flight and prey animals that are acutely aware of their surroundings. In order to work with them safely, and without desensitizing them, we must remain connected to what they connect to. This means we need to generate higher levels of awareness than is typically necessary for modern human survival.
Relationship-based horsemanship requires us to become attuned to what horses are attuned to. We need to learn how to read them and develop the ability to synchronize with them in their neutral state. And then to initiate effective communication with them, we need to BECOME WHAT they are attuned to.

The mindfulness state that one must sustain when practicing relationship-based horsemanship can help us develop control of our compulsions, regulate our emotions, and learn how to monitor and manage the effects we have on the world around us. In order to communicate effectively with horses without causing them fear, we must remain receptive to our senses and in control of our energy. This level of awareness draws us into a mindfulness state. Check out our blog for more information on how horses can help us with our own personal development and growth.
